Hey ladies! Today’s post is going to be all about the brand Yves Rocher, and my experience at their Botanical Spa!
I was lucky enough to be invited to learn more about the brand, and to experience one of their botanical facials, and I’ll get into that later – first, let’s learn a little bit about the brand, shall we?
Without going into too much detail because I don’t want to sound like a Wikipedia article (booooring!), there are a few facts about that brand that really impressed me.
First of all, Yves Rocher has been around since 1959, and is the top skincare/cosmetics brand in France, as well as having a presence in 88 countries worldwide. They focus on botanical ingredients, and the reason behind this is that botanical ingredients are more easily absorbed by the skin, and more beneficial, as they are more similar to the skin than artificial ingredients.
Another great thing about Yves Rocher is that they are responsible for the whole process, from growing and harvesting the plants used in their products, to the manufacturing of the products, and to the selling of the product! So you know that you’re purchasing products from a brand that knows what it’s doing and is in control of the product from start to finish, ensuring the high quality that Yves Rocher is renowned for, at every stage of the process!
They are constantly researching to find the best products and how to use the best part of the plant for their products, and they release about 100 new products each year.
Now let’s get on to the facial! I was greeted by Antonella, and she offered me a hot drink while I waited – great start! She then asked me what my skin type is, and since I have combination skin, she recommended the hydrating facial for me. They have multiple kinds of facials – for example, hydrating (for combination skin), soothing (for sensitive skin) and mattifying (for oily skin).
The whole process took just over an hour, and it was honestly the best hour of my week! It was so relaxing, luxurious and just such a lovely pampering experience all over! The facial included a deep cleanse, a massage, mask, and even some makeup when we were done – the perfect final touch since you walk out feeling so relaxed but also confident that you’re not looking like a ghost with a naked face. 🙂 There were more steps in the facial of course, but I won’t give it all away here – you should definitely experience it yourself and I don’t want to ruin it for you!
The products used in the facial are all professional products that you can’t purchase – but you’ll find the corresponding range of products in the shop! In fact, I bought the hydrating facewash… but we’ll talk more about that another time!
My face felt SO clean and hydrated after, I just couldn’t get over how good it felt and looked. It’s been a couple of days since I had the facial, and I’m still seeing the benefits of the facial, I even felt like I could have skipped foundation these past few days, that’s how good my skin looked!
I then had the opportunity to learn more about the brand, as well as the products in the shop – there’s seriously something for everyone. The products include skincare, fragrances, makeup, nail polish and hair care, and whether your skintype is dry, oily or anything you can imagine, I’m confident you’ll find the perfect product for you!
A highlight of my experience was that the sales persons were clearly passionate about the products they’re selling, and know the products inside out, so if you’re not too sure which product would be best for you, they’re more than ready to help you. They greet everyone with a smile, and are just so polite and helpful. Honestly, the experience for me was 50% about the products and shop and 50% about the lovely people there!
I walked out of there with skin that felt renewed, a smile on my face, and a bagful of products – so stay tuned for exciting reviews coming your way! I’m so glad I had the opportunity to learn more about this brand, and I know I’ll be back for more as soon as possible!
You can find Yves Rocher in Sliema (in Bisazza Street, right near Ice Watch), in Valletta (in Merchants Street, no. 219) and in Paola (Antoine de Paule Square, near Gauda). The Botanical Spa is in Paola, so pop down to there if you’re in the mood for some pampering!
